Hello people. It’s Wednesday..and this is my first WCW post. If you don’t know what WCW means please [get out from under the rock dot com and (lol)] check out my first post of the month here.
And the first #WCW post goes to Fashion blogger, Brenda Chuinkam
Here is the 411 on the Life of this Fashion Blogger!!
When did you start blogging?
I started
actively blogging in 2012, although my very first post was probably in 2011 but
it was just me ranting about putting on weight easily and missing my mom.

Why?
My blog started off as
a platform to vent about y weight issues and later on turned into a fashion
blog after lots of people would tell me how they loved how I dressed.

I blog for the young
woman trying to make it while looking fashionable, the young woman on a budget!
Blogging allows me to show my fashionable side while providing what I hope is
inspiration to other women like me. I also like to talk about my fitness
journey occasionally as this seems to provide motivation to others seeking to
lose weight. I used to be a 230 pound student so I know a thing or 2 about
realistic portion control and exercise.

What are your affiliations outside of blogging world?
I currently serve as
chief stylist for mega African marketplace, https://zuvaa.com/ and
am in charge of their stylist program and blogger affiliation program. I strive
to ensure that the pictures used on our site are a great representation of the
products in order to optimize sales. I also helps scout for prospective
vendors. Apart from Zuvaa, I
serve as ambassador to other sites such as choies.com, sheinside.com and
Tehilah designs. Partnering with brands I admire and are a reflection of what I
stand for (affordable, trendy fashion) is a huge bonus!

Advice/tips for new (fashion) bloggers?
I think anyone wanting
to start a fashion blog or those who recently started one must first ensure
they have come up with a catchy name, ensure they can post often and also post
good quality photos. They must also try to come up with something that would make
them stand out as well as recognizable. Everyone has a blog now so depending on
how far you wish to take the blog, there is a need to stand out. Humans are
visual creatures with short attention spans so make that work to your
advantage-starting with using social media platforms such as Instagram which
are perfect for the short attention span human beings!

What would you love to see in the Camer Blogging Community??
I am
honestly proud of the Camer blogging community from what I see on Facebook. The mixer
which took place Douala was a great initiative! I would like to see Cameroonian
bloggers do features and collaborations with more brands out of their comfort
zone in order to spread their popularity across races and ethnic groups. Think
outside of Cameroon! I have collaborated with Daniel Wellington
watches, a Swiss watch brand, although I am well-known for my love of Ankara
and prints.

It will be nice to see our bloggers do their own thing and follow the
pack [-everyone is getting free wigs and weaves]!Camer bloggers could try and
promote designers back home with immense talent -note the key word here being
“talent”. I emphasize this because the designing world is getting
saturated and we can’t
have even 2 people doing the same thing.

Finally, I would
also like to see the more established bloggers, shout-out our new and up and coming brothers and sisters[-like you Yefon! Haha]

Thanks for this interview Brenda! You are one busy lady. Now i need some collabos ehh..lol
She is also one of my ‘blogging mentors’ in a way..She made me join instagram. Apparently that’s where you get all the collaborations with designers..and for me it is a great source of pics on the “411” of the entertainment world. I finally figured out “Emoji” because of her…haha!
She is one of my fashion bloggers for outfit inspiration. Check out her various social media pages and get inspired by her style. Thumbs up Brenda & keep flying the 237 flag high!
